Dear Parents and Carers,

We have enjoyed another successful week in school with the children continuing to work hard and adapting really positively to the changes to normal routines.

Many of you managed to successfully zoom with your child's class teacher, we hope you found them useful. For those of you who experienced technical difficulties we apologise and hope we can sort them out next time around.

Drop Off and Collection

I am happy that the morning drop off and collection routines are working fairly well and we are managing to get children into school quicker. There are just a couple of points that need clarifying: Year 1 parents should remain lined up at their gates until the teachers come and collect them. You may see a small number of Year 1 parents already on the playground but this is because they have already dropped a sibling off so please do not join them. Reception parents have started to come onto the playground before their allotted time of 9.15am, please remain lined up at the gates to allow the Year 1 parents to exit safely. The staff member on gate duty will let you know when you can move onto the playground.  Finally I have been asked, by a number of parents, to remind you to socially distance from one another. It is an anxious time for everyone and I want all parents to feel comfortable about their safety when coming to school, thank you.

Year 6 Visits to Secondary Schools

I am aware that Parker Academy and DSLV have invited parents to book and appointment to visit their schools on 24th and 25th September however I have received notification from NCC this week that their expectation is that open days and parent consultations are held remotely rather than in person, 'to ensure any risk of contamination and spread is mitigated.' I have yet to hear whether the secondary schools will make alternative arrangements.

Orchards Wrap around Care

Please note the booking forms for Orchards after school care, Autumn term 2, are now available on the school website. Unfortunately we are still unable to reopen the breakfast club at this time.

I wish you all a lovely weekend
